Research Interests

I am broadly interested in developing and new and improved breeding methods for Eucalyptus breeding in South Africa. We are currently working on generating new reference genomes for two Eucalyptus species, Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus urophylla, in order later enable the use of haplotype based molecular breeding in these species. I am also interested in the Structural Variation between these two species and how these may relate to traits of interest to Eucalypt breeders.

Fun Facts

My favourite saying is: “I am not weird, I am a limited edition.”
